Hear Me

I sit here and wait for You my Beloved
To come down and let my soul be flooded
For I need You here so close to me
For You, my dear, are my Grand Prix.
I sit here and wait; imagine Your face...
Only You remind me where I stand in my place,
For I know You know me, I know that well
I know You see the pearl inside the shell.
I sit here, waiting, until You would come
To relieve me of my pain, to give me some
Of what Your beauty and holiness bring
To extinguish my sadness, to make me sing,
To make me laugh, to make me sleep
Into the depths of Your abundance, but by You let me keep.
I sat here and waited, my prayer you heard
You knew I was lonesome, You knew I was scared
But here I wait, praying, and awaiting my Beloved
I open my heart to You and bow my head.
My fellow poet cousin Ado wrote this with me, alternating every two lines. Heh.. Grand Prix would be his line ; ) ..I started it up just to entertain ourselves, but what it turned out was more than from the heart.

I hadn't yet realized that we were gonna be serious, and that's why I put Grand Prix. And because I'm obsessed with Formula 1.
