last night noticings

being one of the last people in the bldg, i walked out after my work shift. 10:04pm. a little later than usual. it's ok. don't have homework. well, nothing due tmrw morning anyway. no stars to be seen. i trudged out silently, backpack balancing me upright. something caught my eye. a scar in the sky.
imagine our earth covered by a sheet of glass. not too far up. about airplane height. imagine now that this glass is covered by a thick layer of grey, misty paint. God's painting. but He decided to play a little.... from being below the palette, i looked up and saw what looked like God had put his finger through the paint and, like He did in Moses' time, split the.. uh.. paint. there was a distinct point where He had put His finger down and then swiped in a line, the end of it fading. around it several other, fainter ones, as if He like the idea and did it few more times. only there weren't as clear (since His finger was already covered in paint).
some artists make an artwork with the leftover paint on the palette itself. the artwork that i turned my eyes to was a grey sky, with lines, tears... scars of the deepest darkest farthest blue. my eyes were too tired to see any stars through the window into outer space.

i got home, mark n mum were watching tv. as i had breakfastlunchdinner, i watched with them. a documentary about gamma rays in outerspace... star nurseries, black holes, 'big bangs'.... you all know i love this stuff... but they said things like "all the galaxies in the universe have a star nursery." i paused chewing. "reaaaaaaaaaaaalllyyyyyyyy?? ...coz you've been to all the galaxies, right?... remind me, how many are there? oh great knower of the limits of the UNIVERSE. which is somewhere around.. uh... i would say infinity, but i don't know."
anyway, i learnt (selectively) what they (possibly) knew.
...a smile lit on my face when one of the scientists decribed something 'stellar'. i remembered Caleb's enthusiastic hop in the video from spruce lake. heh. =*)
